Meet Annika

I help mission-driven people and organizations communicate clearly—so their audiences feel capable, not overwhelmed.

Good communication doesn’t just share information. It guides people. It helps them find what they need—when they need it—without feeling confused, rushed, or ashamed for not already knowing.

Because I have low vision, clarity isn’t just a preference. Sometimes, it’s a lifeline. It trained me to notice when information is confusing, hidden, or designed for an ideal user instead of real humans. That sensitivity makes me a careful communicator, problem-solver, and system translator.

Clarity feels like calm. Independence is power.
Real accessibility helps people move forward — without having to ask.

I believe:

Accessibility isn’t about adding more explanation.
It’s about creating experiences that make sense the first time.

One of the projects that shaped my approach was helping community-based organizations apply for state grants. Many had powerful ideas, but the process itself kept them out—complex forms, unclear instructions, unfamiliar language. I helped create communication tools that didn’t just explain the grant, but opened the door to it. We built confidence, not just compliance.

That experience showed me:
People don’t struggle with information. They struggle with how it’s presented.

I help teams un-complicate their messages without losing depth or heart. Sometimes that looks like a messaging guide or website content. Sometimes it’s a simple intake form that finally works.

I bring both sides of communication together:
🧠 strategy
📝 clear writing
🔍 user lens
🧭 system navigation
👂 lived experience

I’m naturally a connector—some call me a professional LEGO piece.
I love linking people, ideas, and the tools that help them move forward.

I believe good communication should help people feel informed, respected, and capable — never lost, overwhelmed, or talked down to.

I believe the best communication is:

  • 1️⃣ Clear information helps people take action — not just read words.
2️⃣ I help organizations create communication that people can actually use — not just receive.
3️⃣ When information is clear, people move from confused to confident.Or in simpler terms: Be nice.

Clear. Human. Inclusive.
A way of working.

I work with nonprofits, health and disability organizations, community teams, advocacy efforts, educators, and mission-driven leaders who are trying to share something meaningful — and want to do it responsibly, simply, and with heart.
